they/them

My name is Glory. My sun is in Capricorn and my pronouns are currently they/them (or any fitting gender-avoidant pronouns) I began tattooing doing stick n pokes seven-ish years ago while I was a youth, hopping trains and hitch-hiking across the States. Six years ago I gave birth to my child, stopped traveling, and eventually worked as an EMT for two years; one year pre-Covid and one year during lockdown. I got serious about machine tattooing in 2021, but I still offer and am passionate about hand-poking. My style is directly translated from my early hand-poked designs; they are bold-lined, black and white, stipple-shaded tattoos. When I create and design I am pondering and attempting to depict the essence of life cycles, death, re-birth, and transformation from a range of perspectives, including human, animal, mineral, elemental etc., as well as how emotions and experience effect them. Through art I try to challenge my own views of dichotomies and balance, of good and evil, right and wrong, black and white. I am a community taught machine and hand poke tattooist and I am earnestly in love with tattooing. Having had the opportunity to learn consent-based, machine tattooing in a Black and POC, queer-affirming shop and private studio in the Carolinas, I am so inspired to make waves in the world of tattooing and make space for and give voice to marginalized artists and clients.
